Know the variant before choosing a plan.
The name does not settle the rules
Draughts and checkers have several established variants. Board size, capture rules, promotion and the movement of kings can differ. Do not assume that the rules learned at home apply to every online game or club.
Agree on the variant
Before playing, identify the rule set and confirm how captures, multiple jumps and crowning are handled. Keep the organiser’s or publisher’s rules available so a disagreement can be resolved consistently.
